Ardiana Meilinawati

My Memories

My name is Ardiana Meilinawati. You can call me Dina. I’m 15 years old. I was born in Bersalin Asih Hospital, Jakarta. I have a beautiful family. My parents have three children, I’m in the middle.  I have one brother and one sister. My father’s name is Agus and my mother’s name is Ratna. My sister’s name is Dian, and my brother’s name is Ardhan.
I’ve asked my mom about the meaning of my name. She said that “Ar” means Agus and Ratna. “Mei” means I was born on May. My family and I lived in Pondok Ranji. Then, we moved to Kebayoran Baru until now. When I was 4 years old, my parents sent me to TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal I.
I went to elementary school when I was 6 years old. I spent my six years at SD Muhammadiyah 05 Jakarta. Those six years were the happiest time in my memory. I didn’t need to worry about anything. When the teachers gave some homework, my parents would help me. I had many friends too and they really liked to help each other.
I graduated from Muma in 2011. My mom gave me some options to choose my junior high school. I chose to study at SMP Negeri 19 Jakarta. I wanted to spend my three years there. But then, my teacher gave me a chance to join the acceleration program.  It means you will finish your school within two years.
I thought I would join it because I wanted to try a new experience. I asked my parents about my choice. And…they supported me! At first, it was so hard to adapt with my friends in acceleration class. They had unique personality. But, they were so fun and helpful. I didn’t regret my choice.
I graduated from SMPN 19 Jakarta in 2013. I was confused to choose my high school. Then, I joined a test at SMA Labschool Kebayoran. It was really hard. I was so happy that I was accepted as a student there. I asked my parents about my choice to study there and they supported me.
My new experiences started here. I joined a different MOS, Pesantren Ramadhan especially, Trip Observasi and Bintama. It was so different. I was taught to be independent, brave, careful, helpful, and solid. I had many friends here.
In high school, we choose one of the three majors. There are science major (MIA), social majors (IIS), and language major (Bahasa). At first, I chose Bahasa. But, language major wasn’t available because the students were only four. It was too little. So, I chose the second choice, social majors.
It was really fun in social major class. But, I won’t forget my friends in science major class. Although our choices was different, we will still be friends! :))
